10 Frequently Asked Questions

Aryson Data Recovery Software can recover a wide range of file types including documents (DOCX, PDF, XLS), images (JPG, PNG, RAW), videos (MP4, MOV, AVI), audio files, emails, archives (ZIP, RAR), and more. It works across hard drives, SSDs, USB drives, SD cards, and other storage media. Both accidentally deleted files and data lost due to formatting or corruption can be recovered.

Yes. The software is specifically designed to handle formatted drives, corrupted partitions, and drives with damaged file systems. It performs a deep scan that goes beyond the file system layer and searches for recoverable file signatures directly on the storage sectors. In most cases, even data from accidentally formatted drives can be successfully recovered as long as new data has not overwritten the original sectors.

The software offers two scan modes. Quick Scan is a fast scan that looks for recently deleted files using the existing file system index — it finishes in minutes and works well for files deleted recently. Deep Scan performs a thorough sector-by-sector analysis of the entire drive and is recommended for formatted drives, corrupted file systems, or older deletions. Deep Scan takes longer but has a significantly higher recovery success rate for complex data loss scenarios.

Yes. After the scan completes, the software displays a full list of recoverable files along with a built-in preview. You can preview documents, images, emails and other file types directly inside the tool before deciding which ones to recover. This helps you confirm the integrity of files and avoid recovering ones you do not need, saving both time and storage space.

It is strongly recommended that you do NOT install the software on the same drive you are trying to recover data from. Installing anything on that drive risks overwriting the deleted data sectors, which can make recovery impossible. Instead, install Aryson Data Recovery Software on a separate drive (a different partition, external drive, or a secondary system drive) and then point it at the drive you want to scan and recover from.

Aryson Data Recovery Software supports all major file systems including NTFS, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, HFS+, APFS, and EXT2/3/4. This means it works with drives formatted for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can also recover from drives that have lost their partition table or have an unrecognised file system, making it highly versatile across different storage scenarios.

Yes. The software fully supports recovery from external hard drives, USB flash drives, SD cards, memory sticks, and other removable storage devices. Simply connect the device to your computer before launching the software, and it will appear in the drive list automatically. From there, run a scan and recover files just as you would from an internal drive.

The most important thing to do after accidental data loss is to stop using the affected drive immediately. Every file you write to the drive after the deletion increases the risk of overwriting the data you want to recover. Avoid installing new software, saving files, or even browsing the internet if the drive in question is your system drive. Download and install Aryson Data Recovery Software on a different drive as soon as possible and run a scan right away.

The free demo version of Aryson Data Recovery Software lets you run a full scan and preview all the recoverable files so you can confirm what is recoverable before making a purchase. However, to actually save and restore the recovered files to your drive, you will need to activate the full licensed version. This way you can verify recovery is possible before committing to a purchase.

Always save recovered files to a different drive than the one you are recovering from. For example, if you are recovering from your C: drive, save the output to an external hard drive or a D: partition. Saving recovered files back to the same drive risks overwriting other files that are still in the process of being recovered. The software will prompt you to choose a save location and will warn you if you try to save to the source drive.
